1989 Four Coin 500th Anniversary Set commemorating the issue of the first gold sovereign 1489-1989. Gold £5.00; £2.00 (Double Sovereign); Sovereign & Half Sovereign. Each of the coins in the collection features a new obverse and reverse design showing QEII seated as at her coronation and a Shield of Royal Arms ensigned by an open Royal Crown superimposed on a double rose.
Only 5,000 of these sets were issued worldwide. Spink Ref: PGS10.
The four coins are held individually in protective perspex holders within a black Royal Mint presentation case with gold inscription. Certificate of Authenticity No.0897.
